Sweeney Merrigan Law in Boston seeks a tenacious Personal Injury Associate Trial Attorney to manage a caseload from filing through resolution. You will develop case strategy, draft pleadings, handle discovery, take depositions, and negotiate with insurers in a fast-paced, team-oriented firm.

The role emphasizes client service, a strong knowledge of Massachusetts law, and a collaborative culture that values humility and drive.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Massachusetts.
2–5 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation from filing through settlement or trial.
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
Conduct and respond to written discovery: interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission.
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
Develop case strategy with supervising attorneys.
Negotiate with insurance carriers and opposing counsel to resolve claims.
Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
Maintain accurate case records in the firm’s case management system.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and expectations.
Stay current on Massachusetts personal injury and civil procedure law.
