Job summary

Mount Auburn Hospital is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist in Cambridge, MA. Qualifications

• Must have a Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Current Massachusetts licensure to practice physical therapy.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills to independently manage patient caseload.
• Ability to attend to detail more than 70% of the work time.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms accurately using tests, measurements, and history.
• Develops comprehensive treatment plans with patient/family and physician including frequency, duration, goals, and expected outcomes.
• Administers therapeutic techniques and monitors patient response, adjusting the program as needed.
• Confers with patient/family, referring physician, staff, or other facilities to coordinate care and assist with discharge planning.
• Adapts communication in accordance with patient hearing/vision/cognitive abilities.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record and for billing purposes.
• Assists in orientation, training, and supervision of PT assistants, aides, students, and volunteers.
• Maintains and enhances professional knowledge through continuing education and literature review.
• Participates in departmental meetings and performance improvement activities.
