Job summary

YMCA of Central Florida seeks a qualified Personal Trainer to help members achieve their health and wellness goals in a welcoming environment. Deliver high quality personal training, provide excellent customer service, and promote YMCA programs.

The role involves designing tailored fitness programs, tracking progress, maintaining safety, and upselling services. Flexibility with schedule and required certifications are essential to serve diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Must hold current certified personal training certification from ACSM/NASM/NSCA/ACE or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred and must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively recruits and retains personal training clients.
• Maintain confidentiality of member information.
• Process payments through member services following procedures.
• Assist members on the wellness floor and Family Center.
• Design and document personalized fitness programs and track progress.
• Coach and motivate members toward behavior change.
• Monitor progress and answer member questions.
• Stay updated on fitness trends to provide accurate information.
• Build relationships and promote YMCA programs to members.
• Upsell Personal Training, Group Exercise, Youth Sports, Aquatics & Youth Development programs.
• Use handouts, schedules and other resources to increase knowledge.
• Report accidents/incidents and follow injury reporting procedures.
• Report suspicious behavior and policy violations.
• Adhere to child abuse risk management responsibilities.
• Ensure rooms/closets are secured; monitor high-risk areas.
• Respond to emergencies and enforce safety rules.
• Maintain required certifications.
• All other duties as assigned.
