The Behavioral Health and Developmental Services of Strafford County, Inc. is seeking a Supported Housing Specialist to implement a Permanent Supportive Housing program for adults with serious mental illness.

The role involves partnering with housing authorities, social services, and landlords to create stable, affordable long-term housing through subsidies such as Section-8. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree (preferred), at least 1 year of relevant experience, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in the social sciences or human services field.
• 1 year of experience working with special needs populations; experience can be substituted for education.
• Flexibility to work on-call and respond to after-hours concerns and emergencies
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to utilize technology provided to perform job requirements
• Valid driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Implement a Permanent Supportive Housing program to support adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
• Work collaboratively with local housing authorities, social service agencies, and landlords to develop and provide stable, affordable, long-term housing opportunities through subsidies such as Section-8.
• Manage a caseload of clients residing in Strafford County who receive program subsidies.
• Ensure compliance with background checks and program policies.
