Job summary

Gaia AI is building a robotics perception team to deliver high-impact technology for climate-focused applications. We are hiring for a full-time, in-person robotics perception engineer / systems programmer with ownership and fast execution.

Onboarding can start immediately or in the coming weeks. You will work on LiDAR SLAM, sensor fusion, and data pipelines, collaborating across the team to deploy robust perception software.

Qualifications

• 2+ years proven experience with robotics algorithms and Rust/C/C++ (you should be able to point to shipped work).
• Demonstrated teamwork and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and scale.
• Research and implement robotics algorithms from literature.
• Develop drivers and visualizations for sensors.
• Build and maintain internal robotics tools.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize software performance.
• Design software architecture for robotics systems.
• Create data pipelines and integrate data from multiple sensors.
• Deploy to AWS using Docker and container-based workflows.
• Write technical documentation.
