Job summary

Coastal Horizons Center in North Carolina is seeking an Enhanced TASC Peer Support Specialist to help justice-involved individuals with primary mental health diagnoses, including serious mental illness, navigate behavioral health systems and community resources.

The role emphasizes lived experience, recovery principles, and supporting clients with treatment engagement, housing and transportation barriers, appointments, and collaboration with justice systems, healthcare providers, and community

Qualifications

High School diploma or higher required.
Must complete NC Peer Support Specialist Certification.
At least 2 years of recovery experience; lived experience with mental health or SUD preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Experience with justice-involved individuals and trauma histories preferred.
Ability to document services and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Provide peer support and mentoring to justice-involved individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders.
Assist clients in engaging in behavioral health treatment and community resources.
Accompany clients to appointments as appropriate.
Support individuals in overcoming barriers related to housing, transportation, healthcare, and other social determinants of health.
