Enhanced TASC Peer Support Specialist

Coastal Horizons Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Enhanced TASC Peer Support Specialist to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to support justice‑involved individuals with primary mental health diagnoses, including serious mental illness (SMI), through the Enhanced TASC (Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) program. This position operates as part of North Carolina’s Enhanced TASC model, implemented in alignment with DMHDDSUS guidance to standardize TASC services for individuals with primary mental health diagnoses and improve service outcomes. The ideal candidate will utilize lived experience and recovery principles to support individuals in navigating behavioral health systems, community supervision requirements, treatment engagement, and community stability.
Primary duties include providing peer support and mentoring services to justice‑involved individuals with mental health and co‑occurring disorders; assisting clients in engaging in behavioral health treatment and community resources; accompanying clients to appointments as appropriate; and supporting individuals in overcoming barriers related to housing, transportation, healthcare, and other social determinants of health.
Salary Range for this position is commensurate with experience and includes medical/dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement savings plan/401K, and paid time off programs.
