Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. in Manteno, IL is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to conduct recovery oriented groups and engage patients in treatment under supervision.

The role requires at least one year of recovery experience and certification in CRSS or CPRS (or within one year of placement). The position offers a starting pay range of $18.26 to $22.00 per hour, with schedule Tuesday through Saturday (7:00 am–3:30 pm) and ASAP start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least one year of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring substance use and mental health challenges.
• Certification in Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Peer Recovery Support (CPRS), or attain certification within one year of placement in position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct recovery oriented and educational groups under the direction of the Program Manager.
• Engage patients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement techniques.
• Assist with monitoring patient engagement and communicate with the treatment team regarding patient attendance, participation and any barriers or needs to support treatment involvement.
• Process incoming patients including basic orientation to program rules.
• Support treatment plans by reporting client observations and support decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privilege.
• Assist case manager/counselor with client activities by implementing scheduled and/or requested activities.
• Works cooperatively with nursing and medical staff to monitor clients’ vital signs, observe urine drops, monitor self-administration of medications, monitor clients, and chart all pertinent data.
• Performs room and facility checks to ensure client’s comfort, safety, and well-being.
