Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Patient Care Tech to provide direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. You will observe patients, perform routine tasks, and support nursing staff in delivering compassionate, safe care.

This full-time night shift (6:00 pm–6:30 am) requires a HS diploma or equivalent, BLS, and relevant clinical experience or STNA/CNA certification. You may perform venipunctures, ECGs, basic lab duties, and patient transport as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• STNA/CNA certification or nursing student with clinical experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care (bathing, hygiene, linens) under RN guidance.
• Observe patient responses and report to RN/physician.
• Record vital signs, height, weight and other observations.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and range-of-motion
• Prepare meals, deliver trays, assist with feeding.
• Collect specimens and perform bedside tests as directed.
• Perform ECGs and apply oxygen as directed.
• Provide wound care under RN direction; catheterizations as needed.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and charting per standards.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education under supervision.
