Job summary

Grand River Health in Rifle, Colorado is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor (Full-Time) to help patients navigate financial assistance and payment options with compassionate, responsive service.

You will collaborate with Patient Financial Services and Patient Access to connect patients with resources, ensuring accurate, confidential handling of information and a supportive experience for neighbors in Western Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual skills and healthcare experience are a plus.
• Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers, office equipment, and common word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive information and multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist uninsured and underinsured patients with financial assistance programs, including Medicaid, CICP, Hospital Discounted Care, and charity care.
• Explain potential financial responsibility and provide estimates for charges.
• Maintain timely communication and effective relationships with patients, providers, coworkers, and community partners.
• Process, scan, and document information from phone, email, fax, and other systems with accurate records.
• Cross-train and provide backup support within Patient Financial Services and Patient Access.
