Job summary

YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for the SART program. You will recruit, train, and support volunteers who provide 24/7 in-person response to hospitals and police departments, assisting survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

The role includes maintaining training records, coordinating orientations, and collaborating with HR for background checks. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with strong communication and organizational skills essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with appropriate education.
• 1 year of Sexual Violence and/or Domestic Violence field experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties: maintain training schedules, records, and certificates; conduct volunteer interviews; track training hours and on-call shifts.
• Recruitment: identify and engage volunteers through online platforms and community events; conduct orientations.
• Training: provide 48-hour mandatory training for all SART volunteers in blended format.
• Recognition and retention: plan appreciation events and ongoing in-service meetings.
• Volunteer support: maintain regular contact, monthly meetings, acknowledge contributions.
• Attend staff and agency meetings and trainings.
