Job summary

YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis is seeking a dedicated professional to support and enhance the SART program by recruiting and training volunteers who respond to survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

The role coordinates training, interviews, background checks, and ongoing volunteer support, working closely with HR and Crisis Intervention Lead Advocate to ensure compassionate, trauma-informed responses and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with appropriate education and 1 year experience in sexual/domestic violence field.
• Experience in volunteer management or supervision is preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma, substance misuse and mental health issues affecting survivors.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties: maintain training schedules, records and certificates; conduct volunteer interviews; track training hours and on-call shifts.
• Recruitment: recruit individuals and groups through online platforms and community events; conduct orientation and onboarding sessions.
• Training: provide 48-hour mandatory training for all SART volunteers in blended in-person/virtual model.
• Recognition and retention: plan appreciation initiatives such as certificates and monthly in-service meetings.
• Volunteer support: maintain regular contact with volunteers, monthly meetings, and recognition activities.
• Attend staff and agency meetings and training.
