Job summary

The City of Tustin's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring a part-time Recreation Facilities Assistant to set up facilities for meetings, classes, and events. The role involves frequent public interaction, including with children, teens, and seniors, and requires a high school diploma and a valid California driver’s license.

Hours are less than 1,000 per fiscal year, with at-will, non-benefitted status. Duties include setup, light maintenance, and occasional driving between City facilities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation required.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or public interaction.
• Valid Class C California driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and equipment to set up facilities for classes, meetings, and events; operate audio-video gear.
• Open/close facilities; turn on lights, security system, and AC; lock up after use.
• Monitor facilities for safety hazards and clean spills; ensure walkways are clear.
• Provide customer service to facility patrons and answer questions about facilities and programs.
• Assist with special events by setting up booths, delivering supplies, and monitoring safety.
• Assist with interior maintenance (trash, cleaning) and exterior maintenance (leaf blower, power washer) as needed.
• Perform light maintenance tasks (bulbs, painting, minor repairs) and report major issues.
• Travel between City facilities using a City vehicle.
