Job summary

The City of Tustin is seeking a part-time Maintenance Aide to perform hands-on maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs in parks, facilities and public spaces. The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated to serve the community, and capable of working independently. This at-will, non-benefitted position requires weekend availability and may run 5:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; six months of general maintenance experience.
• Possession of a Class C California driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Background screening, physical examination and administrative screening may be required.
• May be required to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains park facilities and public spaces; cleans restrooms and fixtures.
• Performs trash removal, cleans waste receptacles, and maintains cleanliness of buildings and lots.
• Performs minor repairs and checks playgrounds and fixtures for defects.
• Assists with setup for City functions and moves furniture when needed.
• Responds to maintenance needs and reports hazards; operates tools and equipment safely.
• Maintains vehicles, tools, and work area in a clean, safe condition.
• Provides directions and basic information to the public as needed.
