Job summary

JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ is seeking a part-time Day Habilitation Program Assistant to support adults with special needs in a community center setting. You will work with a program leader to implement activities that foster social and life skills, with paid training and daily documentation required for each shift.

The role emphasizes empathetic communication, reliability, and collaboration with staff, participants, and families.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21.
• Background checks including drug testing, fingerprinting, CARI, and Medicaid/NJ Treasury checks will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing activities for program participants.
• Maintain a group management system and encourage positive interactions among participants.
• Coordinate with the Group Leader to obtain materials and supplies for activities.
• Escort participants between activities and supervise for safety.
• Document daily participation using the Formstack platform.
• Attend staff meetings and required annual training.
