Job summary

MLK HS is seeking a Title I Paraprofessional to support students and help deliver high academic expectations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, demonstrate strong communication, and implement IEP goals across classroom and community settings.

The position is funded through Title I for one year and may require applying for available opportunities to continue employment with DeKalb County School District for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and passing the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Alternative: Associate degree or higher acceptable under PSC rules.
• Requires PSC paraprofessional certificate per Georgia standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical and personal care needs as outlined in IEP.
• Provide health-related care support as trained and authorized.
• Deliver small group or one-on-one instruction per lesson plans.
• Assist with classroom management to maintain a productive learning environment.
• Support assessment and data collection activities.
• Develop and organize instructional materials for student use.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records per FERPA and district policies.
