Job summary

Greenhalge Elementary School PreK-4 in Lowell, Massachusetts is seeking a Paraprofessional for a long-term substitute role in the CSA Health program. The position starts immediately and is full-time.

Responsibilities include supporting the classroom teacher with developmentally appropriate activities, assisting with routines and field trips, and helping students with and without special needs, including ELL students.

Qualifications

• Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test
• 48 college credits or more
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students by implementing concrete learning activities that meet varied developmental needs and supports ELL students
• Assist classroom teacher with getting students into and out of buildings and classrooms, including lifting and carrying of students
• Assist teacher during activities such as field trips and emergency drills
• Assist teacher with classroom routines such as snack, washing dishes, clean-up, bathroom and other similar activities
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children and perform responsibilities as assigned by the principal
• For HEALTH positions, include feeding, diaper changes and toileting children when applicable

Education

48 college credits or more
