Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools - Lakewood Elementary School, Rockville, MD, seeks a Paraeducator Level II for Special Education Itinerant (LFI). This 7-hours/10-month position supports students with IEPs and may involve off-campus activities.

Under the principal's direction, you will facilitate learning, support academic, behavioral, social, and physical needs, and help students access grade-level or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and instructional practices relevant to IEP support.
• Ability to assist with instructional goals and monitor student behavior.
• Proficiency in English communication, reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Support students with IEPs and facilitate access to curriculum.
• Work in general education or specialized instructional settings as needed.
• Provide instructional and classroom management support and related clerical tasks.
• May participate in activities off school grounds and assist with behavioral needs.
