Job summary

Synchrony Rehab is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Novi, MI. You will work under an Occupational Therapist to deliver therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting and help patients improve daily function.

Requirements include an OTA degree, state licensure/certification, and CPR (preferred). The role emphasizes documentation, patient education, and collaboration with a care team to support progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Experience: 0-1 years.
• Licenses: Must have and maintain a current, valid state OTA licensure or certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques aimed at improving functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
