Job summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) employed or contracted through the organization supports the OT in implementing standards of care and ensuring adherence to the service agreement. The COTA performs delegated services, maintains records, and participates in patient education, family/caregiver training, and interprofessional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Works under the supervision of the registered Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains clinical records and reports patient changes.

Responsibilities

• Participates in ongoing evaluation of patient’s functional status as delegated by the OT.
• Participates in teaching new skills or retraining patients in daily activities.
• Maintains appropriate clinical records and reports changes to the OT.
• Coordinates care with other health personnel to ensure comprehensive plans.
