Job summary

The Palace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Tennessee seeks a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its rehab team. Under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist, you will provide occupational therapy services, support treatment plans, and help residents regain independence in daily living activities.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care, document progress, and maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Valid state Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in screening and providing input to initial evaluations as appropriate.
• Implement treatment for assigned patients in accordance with the established plan of care.
• Comply with state and federal guidelines regarding accurate and timely documentation and billing.
• Establish and maintain effective patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary team members, and facility staff.
• Provide direct supervision to rehabilitation technicians during group and individual treatment.
• Participate in utilization review, case management, care conferences, and administrative meetings as directed by the occupational therapist.
• Maintain awareness of changes in patient conditions and programs, and communicate patient progress in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational, facility, and patient information.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical, legal, and professional manner at all times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
