Job summary

The Occupational Therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Burr Ridge, IL will evaluate, plan and implement OT treatment to restore independence in daily living activities for adults and children with complex conditions.

Responsibilities include patient evaluation, setting goals with patients and families, coordinating with the care team, documenting care per department standards, and possibly supervising OT students or teaching courses. Requires IL license and active BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current CPR or BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Ability to participate in ongoing education and in-service offerings.
• Understanding of growth and development across infant, child, adolescent and geriatric populations.
• Ability to interpret patient data to address treatment needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with health professionals and families.
• Ability to transfer and position patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and plan OT treatment, orienting patients to OT processes.
• Evaluate impairments and disability relevant to diagnosis, life roles, and age.
• Facilitate patient participation and collaborate to achieve outcomes.
• Establish goals with patient, family, and team members.
• Implement treatment plans, select activities, and modify as needed.
• Participate in patient care conferences and educate patients and families.
• Document care per department protocols using RICIS and forms.
• May supervise affiliated OT students.
• May teach in Department and Education and Training.
• Perform other duties in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
