Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois License to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current CPR or BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to develop professional skills by completing development plans and continuing education.
• Understanding of growth and development across infant, child, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Ability to interpret growth and development related information to meet patient needs.
• Strong interpersonal communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, assesses, and plans OT treatment to restore or maximize independence.
• Evaluates impairments, disability and handicap appropriate to patient diagnosis and life roles.
• Facilitates patient participation and collaborates with others to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Identifies areas where abilities affect function to set goals with patient and family.
• Implements OT treatment plans including activities, transfer and positioning.
• Documents patient care activities following department protocols.
• May supervise affiliated OT students and teach in Department courses.
