Job summary

The Middle School Math Coach at Decatur Middle School (MSD of Decatur Township) is a certified instructional leader who supports mathematics instruction for grades 7–8. This grant-funded position focuses on improving instructional practice, aligning curriculum, and promoting student growth in math.

You will collaborate with district leadership, building administrators, and teachers to implement data-driven instruction, coordinate assessments, and support high-quality math teaching.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of middle school math teaching experience.
• Experience leading professional development or coaching peers.
• Experience using formative and summative data to inform instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide student-centered coaching to middle school math teachers through modeling, co-teaching, observation, and feedback.
• Support curriculum alignment with district maps and standards.
• Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and monitor progress.
• Develop targeted action plans to address math gaps.
• Spend 75% of time in coaching cycles.
• Collaborate with math leadership to align CFAs and frameworks.
