Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Florida seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Golden Glades health center in Miami, FL. You will support clinical workflow, assist with STI testing, and educate patients on birth control options and pregnancy-related services.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience or equivalent.
Experience dealing with the public.
Strong understanding of reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood goals.
Excellent organizational, communication and decision-making skills.
Comfort discussing sexuality, contraception, STI and pregnancy options.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient intake, including medical and social histories, and perform STI screenings and point-of-care testing.
Educate patients in a non-directive manner on birth control options and pregnancy-related services, supporting informed decision-making.
Ensure exam rooms are properly prepped and sanitized between patients, and assist with basic clinical tasks and lab work in accordance with medical standards.
Provide excellent patient service aligned with Planned Parenthood's values of respect, equity, and inclusion.
Accurately maintain patient records and documentation while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards.
Support the daily operations of the health center through cross-functional collaboration, flexibility, and accountability.
