Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant I at the Flint Planned Parenthood Health Center. Under supervision, you will provide patient-centered medical services and education in support of our mission.

Responsibilities include front desk tasks, patient intake, insurance verification, basic lab testing, vital signs, assisting clinicians, and recording in the EHR. The role supports access, equity, and our workplace standards, with a schedule of about 37.5 hours weekly and a pay

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' healthcare experience, preferably in a reproductive health setting.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by HR.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and schedule appointments; refer out-of-scope services.
• Assist patients with check-in and paperwork completion.
• Obtain insurance information and verify eligibility.
• Assess financial resources and determine program eligibility.
• Record financial and billing transactions in the practice management system.
• Under physician direction, dispense medication and supplies.
