Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a member of WSP USA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Tempe, AZ. You will design complex cooling and HVAC systems for mission critical facilities, including air distribution, chiller plants, and energy solutions.

The role requires collaboration across multi‑discipline teams, client meetings, and mentoring junior engineers. Frequent travel to client sites is expected as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for high performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace and PipeFlow.
• Knowledge of building, mechanical and energy codes.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Independently support the project team during design and construction stages of projects.
• Design air distribution, hydronic and automated temperature controls systems.
• Integrate complex mechanical engineering requirements into facility designs.
• Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and owners.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Collaborate and coordinate with internal project discipline teams and external vendors and manufacturers.
