Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse/Health Services Technician for Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton, OR. You will provide clinical care to inmates, perform nursing duties, and assist with emergencies under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in care and treatment of ill or injured patients.
• Experience with pharmacy and medical laboratory techniques.
• Valid Oregon LPN license and CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care including dressings and aseptic technique.
• Recognize signs related to disease processes and respond appropriately.
• Perform nursing procedures and treatments under supervision of RN.
• Administer medications and monitor adverse effects with RN/physician notification.
• Conduct triage and develop treatment plans for emergencies.
• Document care accurately and maintain patient records.
• Provide teaching to inmates and staff on medical issues.
• Collaborate with diverse staff and ensure patient confidentiality.
