Job summary

State of Oregon seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse, Health Services Technician at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton. This role performs clinical care and emergency nursing functions under RN supervision, in a correctional setting.

You will administer medications, perform wound care, triage emergencies, and develop treatment plans while documenting care and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires valid LPN license and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience caring for physically ill or injured patients, including training or experience in pharmacy and medical laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Oregon Licensed Practical Nurse certification and valid First Aid/CPR card at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care including post-operative dressings and maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Administration of medications, identifying adverse side effects, and notifying RN or physician.
• Develop and implement nursing plans and treatments; perform nursing procedures and treatments.
• Conduct triage to assess emergency severity and develop life-saving plans.
• Document patient progress notes accurately and maintain nursing records.
• Delegate non-nursing tasks to unlicensed staff and provide direction.
