Job summary

Midwest Health Inc in Kansas is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents in our facility, following federal, state, and local standards to ensure high-quality care.

You will perform routine nursing duties, assist with admissions and discharges, manage daily hygiene, document changes in residents’ conditions, and report to the Charge Nurse, while upholding dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility.
• Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures; follow nursing department policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Assist in the admission and discharge of residents.
• Assist residents in daily hygiene care including bathing, oral, ear, eye, facial, hair and nail care.
• Assist residents in bowel and bladder functions; collect specimens when required.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing/bandage changes, colostomy and drainage care, and taking blood as required.
• Perform lab tests, blood pressures, and other routine monitoring as per the resident care plan.
• Complete accident/incident reports and maintain required charting and documentation.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure nursing services meet residents’ needs.
• Receive/give the nursing report at shift changes and report occupational exposures as per policy.
• Monitor safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies; recommend equipment and supply needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
