Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant experience with elementary-aged children in a classroom or large group setting.
• Demonstrated passion and joy for working with Lower School students in grades pre-K through 5th.
• A commitment to social-emotional learning, and some knowledge of child development, differentiated instruction, and inquiry and project-based teaching.
• Strong student-centered and community-oriented classroom management skills centered on clear expectations, student support and growth, and a restorative solution approach.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• A demonstrated commitment to enhancing an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to connect meaningfully with students, teachers, and staff throughout our diverse community.
• Strong affinity for the mission and strategic vision of Westtown School and an educational philosophy consistent with the school’s Quaker values.
