Job summary

Innovative Network of Knowledge in New Mexico seeks an Early Head Start educator to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curricula for infants and toddlers, with emphasis on language, literacy and readiness for school.

You will collaborate with families, staff and community partners, maintain confidentiality, document progress, monitor screenings, and ensure compliance with Head Start standards while supporting bilingual families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Infant/Toddler CDA certification must be completed within 6 months of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certifications must be obtained and maintained.
• Prefer 2 years of related experience in an Early Head Start preschool classroom setting.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA & HIPPA and Head Start policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement the developmentally and linguistically appropriate curriculum (Frog Street Infants & Toddlers).
• Document and provide Part C Service Coordination for children with special needs; communicate with Director and Managers.
• Collaborate with parents, education staff and Parent Committee to meet individual goals.
• Promote positive attachment between caregivers, children, and families; model appropriate communication and guidance techniques.
• Maintain participant confidentiality and stay updated on Head Start Performance Standards and licensing regulations.
• Supervise classroom activities and outdoor play; ensure safety and developmental appropriateness.
• Maintain and manage records of development, health, and parental concerns; gather data for planning and evaluations.
• Participate in family-style mealtimes to model nutrition and social skills and engage families in program activities.
