Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Program Director to lead a robust GME program across clinical sites. You will govern curriculum design, resident evaluation, and program compliance with ACGME standards, while fostering a professional, inclusive environment that supports patient‑centered care and trainee well‑being.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the DIO, GMEC, and program faculty to advance scholarly activity, curriculum innovation, and program improvement.

Qualifications

• Specialty expertise with 3+ years in educational/administrative roles
• Current board certification in the program specialty (ABMS or AOBMS)
• Active medical licensure and appropriate staff appointment
• Ongoing clinical activity
• Ability to conduct training with a scholarly approach
• Meets CME requirements annually

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct the program aligned with community needs and institutional mission
• Provide professional, equitable, respectful program environment free of harassment
• Ensure trainee well‑being and safe, collaborative team environment
• Oversee activities across clinical sites and appoint site directors
• Ensure appropriate supervision based on trainee level and patient complexity
• Promote diverse, inclusive recruitment and retention
• Prepare for on‑site and virtual program reviews and complete required reporting
• Maintain and update program/trainee records in ACGME ADS
• Implement GME policies, grievance procedures and due process
• Attend educational programs for program directors and educators
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum and rotation plan
• Organize Annual Program Evaluation with PEC and improvement plan
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide learning plans including remediation
• Appoint Clinical Competence Committee for trainee progression
• Evaluate core faculty on teaching, engagement, and scholarship
• Collaborate with leadership to assign appropriate trainee responsibilities and supervision
• Work with DME/ADME to ensure effective program operation and resource advocacy
• Participate in GMEC activities as requested
• Demonstrate scholarly activity through QI/research and curricular innovations
• Engage in didactics, rounds, journal clubs and conferences to foster scholarly activity
• Collaborate with Program Administrator as a dyad for program logistics
