Job summary

NAMSA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support the care and welfare of animals in research settings at its Minnesota facility. The role involves dispensing medications, recording vital signs, and performing procedures under veterinary supervision to ensure protocol compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires AS in Veterinary Technology or 4+ years of related clinical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
• CVT or ALAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses medications as prescribed and documents animal health data.
• Performs routine clinical observations and records study data.
• Administers start-up medications and monitors fasting and recovery.
• Performs IV blood draws and preventive health maintenance.
• Communicates with veterinary staff about living conditions and status.
• Assists with training newer large animal research technicians.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.
