Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA, seeks a Level II Competent Registered Nurse (L&D/Maternal Baby) to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care. You will lead nursing care using the nursing process, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement and staff orientation.

A Virginia RN license with BLS is required, BSN preferred, with 1 year of relevant hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in Virginia or compact state.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital nursing experience in L&D or Mother/Baby.
• BSN preferred; RN license valid in Virginia or reciprocal compact state.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family involvement and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with the health care team.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and act as a policy contact.
• Support daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to Nurse Manager on unit needs.
• Participate in committees for policy development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
