Job summary

ESC of Eastern Ohio Consortium is seeking a Special Education/Intervention Specialist for Youngstown Community School. The role involves providing specialized support and instruction to K–8 students with disabilities while working collaboratively with educators and families.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License and is dedicated to fostering student success through differentiated instruction and ongoing assessment.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive).
• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working within inclusive and intervention-based models preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction aligned to student IEP goals and Ohio Learning Standards.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs and progress reports.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Communicate positively with families regarding student progress and supports.
