Job summary

Latino Community Center is seeking a Manager of Educational Policy, Advocacy & Partnerships to lead K-12 policy efforts and strengthen education equity for Latino children in Allegheny County. You will coordinate the Educational Advocacy team and SOMOS Coordinator, advancing engagement with districts, schools, and partners to remove barriers.

The role requires experience in education policy, supervision, and community collaboration, with a commitment to equity and family-centered approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum five (5) years of professional experience in K-12 education, educational advocacy, family engagement, student support services, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Pennsylvania's public education system and student rights.
• Experience working with culturally diverse and historically underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, mentors, and develops the Educational Advocacy team and SOMOS Coordinator.
• Establishes performance expectations and professional development plans.
• Participates in recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff.
• Ensures staff can advocate effectively for students and families within K-12 systems.
• Fosters a collaborative, family-centered team culture aligned with LCC values.
• Conducts regular one-on-one meetings, provides feedback, and supports leadership development.
• Promotes consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement across educational advocacy services.
• Oversees educational advocacy services for K-12 students and families.
• Guides high-quality enrollment, residency, attendance, truancy, bullying, language access, and special education supports.
• Manages complex advocacy cases with IEPs, 504s, disciplinary matters, and language access.
• Empowers parents to become informed advocates for their children's education.
• Identifies trends and recommends solutions to improve access and outcomes.
• Liaises with school districts, charter schools, Intermediate Units and educational agencies across Allegheny County.
• Builds collaborative relationships with administrators, counselors, educators, and family engagement staff.
• Represents the organization in coalitions, meetings, and cross-sector partnerships.
• Strengthens partnerships to improve communication and inclusivity in education.
