Job summary

Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Georgia is currently hiring a Nurse Assistant/Mental Health Tech for our Inpatient Gero-Psych Unit. The CNA/MHTs answer patients' calls for assistance, take vital signs, monitor behavior and health status, and assist patients in and out of the unit under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.

Preferred candidates have prior CNA or MHT experience and hold Aegis de-escalation and Basic Life Support certifications;

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Nursing Assistant or Mental Health Tech.
• Certifications in Aegis de-escalation and BLS required or obtained on hire.
• Certification as Nurse Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer patients' calls for assistance and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration.
• Work under supervision of an experienced nurse and report problems to program staff.
• Assist patients in and out of the unit and to eating areas & restrooms.
• Participate with the mental health team in planning and implementing patient treatments.
• Perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks as required.
