Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Georgia is currently hiring a Nurse Assistant/Mental Health Tech for our Inpatient Gero-Psych Unit. The CNA/MHTs answer patients' calls for assistance, take vital signs, monitor behavior and health status, and assist patients in and out of the unit under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
Preferred candidates have prior CNA or MHT experience and hold Aegis de-escalation and Basic Life Support certifications;
Colquitt Regional Medical Center is currently hiring a Nurse Assistant/Mental Health Tech for our Inpatient Gero-Psych Unit.
The CNA/MHTs answer patients’ calls for assistance, take their vital signs, and monitor their behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration. All CNA/MHTs work under the supervision of an experienced nurse, and report any problems or worsening in a patient’s condition to the program staff. They monitor and observe clients’ health status and physical care needs at admission and while clients are in the program. They assist clients in and out of the unit, to and from eating areas & restrooms. They function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and perform administrative, clerical, and other tasks according to program policy. They demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of performance.
CNA/MHTs will be working with the mental health team---consisting of registered nurses, therapists, social workers, and psychiatrists---participates in planning and implementing patient treatments.
Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or Mental Health Tech.
Must possess Aegis (de-escalation certification) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross or obtain certification through Colquitt Regional Medical Center Educational Services upon hire.
Technical/other training or better in Nurse Assistant.
MHT Or Geriatric CNA experience preferred
