Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Unit Assistant to provide a wide range of support services for units. You will maintain patient records, unit supplies, and assist the care team under RN supervision, caring for adolescents to geriatric patients, and supporting communications across the hospital.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient transport, ADR/ADL support, and accurate EMR data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or high school transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and reports basic patient physiological data such as vital signs, weight, and urine/stool appearance.
• Performs basic care and activities of daily living under RN direction.
• Monitors intake and output and documents accordingly.
• Records patient data accurately in the EMR and communicates changes to the nursing staff.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and supports safe patient environment.
• Assists with room preparation, transports, and stocking of supplies as needed.
• Notifies departments of repairs and assists with patient turnovers and discharges.
