Columbia Housing is seeking a Housing Specialist I in Columbia, SC to support the Housing Choice Voucher program. The role manages a caseload, handles eligibility tasks, and processes annual reexaminations and recertifications for housing assistance.

Responsibilities include interviewing participants, calculating HAP, and counseling participants on program obligations while coordinating with landlords and external service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required; two years of experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HUD rules and CH policies.
• Excellent communication and counseling skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview participants for recertifications and verify information.
• Calculate Housing Assistance Payments and rents.
• Counsel participants on program obligations and provide referrals.
