Job summary

PIH Health is seeking an Operating Engineer to plan, organize and coordinate maintenance of building systems across the PIH Health Hospital campus under supervision. You will operate and maintain boilers, chillers, electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the campus as directed.

Required experience includes 2–3 years as an Operating Engineer and hospital maintenance background; a California driver’s license is required and a steam license is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Steam license preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience as Operating Engineer.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Maintenance and repair experience of major equipment.
• Require a valid California Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate maintenance and minor projects across campus.
• Supervise minor projects and general preventive maintenance.
• Operate and maintain stationary boilers, chillers, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Identify potential problems during shift rounds and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain good records and report findings to supervisor.
