Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking an Operating Engineer to plan, organize and coordinate maintenance of building systems across the campus under supervision.

You will operate and maintain boilers, chillers, electrical and mechanical equipment; a high school diploma is required and a California driver’s license. 2–3 years of operating experience in a hospital environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Steam license preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as Operating Engineer, hospital experience preferred.
• Maintenance and repair experience of major equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate maintenance of equipment and building systems under supervision.
• Supervise minor projects and general corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Operate and maintain stationary boilers, chillers, electrical and mechanical equipment across the PIH Health Hospital campus.
