Job summary

PIH Health Hospital Whittier seeks an operating engineer to support the Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager. You will plan, organize and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems across the PIH Health Hospital campus.

You will operate boilers, chillers, and electrical/mechanical equipment, monitor shifts, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable, safe campus operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Steam license preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2-3 years experience as Operating Engineer.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Maintenance and repair of major equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate maintenance tasks.
• Supervise minor projects and general corrective maintenance.
• Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, electrical and mechanical systems across campus.
