Job summary

University Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to join UH Lakewood Medical Center. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors, working the 4:00PM–12:30AM shift.

You’ll follow established cleaning procedures, move furniture and equipment as needed, and ensure infection control standards are met. The role requires strong English communication, physical stamina, and readiness to complete training within 30–60 days.

Qualifications

• Communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely.
• Willingness to complete a competency assessment after training within 30–60 days.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to maintain cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures to clean and service hospital areas, ensuring top condition.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed for operations and events.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety by following infection control standards.
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read cleaning chemical labels and apply safety instructions.
