Job summary

University Health seeks an Environmental Services Worker (EVS Tech) at UH Lakewood Medical Center. The role covers hospital-wide cleaning and sanitation, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors during the night shift (10:30 PM–7:00 AM) with a 40-hour workweek.

You will clean patient rooms and common areas, move furniture as needed, follow infection control and safety protocols, and operate floor care equipment while reading chemical labels to maintain a spotless

Qualifications

• Speak and read English and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely.
• Be ready to complete a competency assessment within 30–60 days of hire.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital areas, from patient rooms to common spaces.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to set up spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety following infection control standards and procedures.
• Operate floor care equipment safely and efficiently to keep floors spotless.
