Job summary

Alameda Health System in San Leandro, CA seeks an Environmental Services Worker to perform a variety of housekeeping duties in the Hospital under close supervision, following standard infection control procedures.

The role involves trash disposal, cleaning of rooms and fixtures, maintaining bathrooms, and preparing beds and patient areas. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) located at San Leandro Hospital, with shift(s) in the SLH Housekeeping team.

Qualifications

• High School Education or equivalent.
• Six months+ full-time cleaning experience in hospitals or commercial buildings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports and empties trash and sharp objects receptacles.
• Cleans light fixtures, wall vents and dusts.
• Keeps records of work accomplished; fills out daily log sheet.
• Cleans isolation rooms, and examining tables following special cleaning procedures.
• Power Wash gurneys every 6 months.
• Cleans walls, windows, blinds and shades; changes cubicle curtains and draperies.
• Disinfects and cleans bathrooms; restocks supplies; uses 10-step cleaning process.
• Maintains assigned area; sweeps, mops, dusts, and moves furniture; vacuums or buffs floors.
• Intermittently performs routine duties usually assigned to Hospital Maintenance Porters.
• Operates incinerators and trash compactors on rotation.
• Sets up beds and rooms; cleans meeting rooms; handles supplies and dock areas.
• Completes all elearning assigned.
