Job summary

Summer Search Seattle seeks a High School Mentor to support about 36 students from sophomore through senior year, mentoring in schools, at our office, or by phone. The role emphasizes social-emotional development, equity, and post-secondary readiness.

You will join a collaborative team and contribute to data tracking, family communications, and multi-year student relationships, with a hybrid work model and occasional travel to partner sites.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience working with student populations served by Summer Search.
• Group facilitation experience strongly desired.
• Academic or applied knowledge of adolescent development or restorative/transformative justice is a plus.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting with in-person and remote mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a caseload of 36-44 high school participants, in school, at our office or by phone.
• Utilize mentoring methods focused on adolescent development, culture, and critical consciousness.
• Encourage year-round program participation and post-secondary readiness.
• Communicate with families about summer experiences and career opportunities.
• Conduct bi-weekly group mentoring sessions for sophomores and juniors.
