Job summary

Prospect Schools in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a mission-driven High School Building Substitute Teacher to join a growing K-12 IB-aligned network. You will support daily instruction, differentiate learning, and build positive, equitable classrooms alongside a dedicated instructional team.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree and be committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Prior teaching experience is preferred; strong organizational and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Experience working in a diverse school community is preferred.
• Adept at collaborating and building community with others.

Responsibilities

• Differentiate instruction and learning approaches as needed.
• Teach to an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage all students throughout the lesson.
• Attend regular coaching meetings with your direct manager and professional development sessions.
• Use data-informed methods to modify and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the individual learners.
• Serve as an Advisor to students, motivating students across academic skill levels and cultivating students’ social-emotional well-being.
• Participate in other student supervision as all other teachers do, including lunch and recess supervision.
• Demonstrate successful partnership with classroom or subject area co-teacher and utilize multiple co-teaching models in the classroom.
