Job summary

Prospect Schools, a Brooklyn-based K-12 IB-aligned charter network, seeks a Leave Replacement High School English Language Arts Teacher for the upcoming school year (Sept 2026 start, tentative Oct 2026 end). The role reports to school leadership and emphasizes equity, critical thinking, and inclusive practice.

You must hold a Bachelor's Degree and have teaching experience; NY Teaching License/Certification is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required for teaching. NY teaching license preferred or in process.
• Experience planning instruction with equity and IB-aligned approaches.
• Ability to collaborate with co-teachers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design culturally responsive, engaging English lessons for a diverse class.
• Use data and content knowledge to plan clear instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues and leaders to support student growth.
• Differentiate activities and assessments for varied learners.
• Monitor progress and write IEPs as needed.
• Communicate regularly with families and coordinate caregiver meetings.
